PAST INITIATIVES

Our Vision

BC residents enjoy a healthy diet.

Our Mission

To support and sponsor food literacy projects through nutrition education and food skill building for priority populations in British Columbia.

Our Values

Show respect and compassion for the dignity of others by operating in an inclusive, caring and collaborative manner:

• Operate with integrity and accountability to all stakeholder groups
• Maintain commercial independence and objectivity
• Recognize and honour cultural competency and diversity

Food security means that everyone has equitable access to food that is affordable, culturally preferable, nutritious, and safe; everyone has the agency to participate in, and influence food Systems; and that food systems are resilient, ecologically sustainable, socially just, and honour
Indigenous food sovereignty.

Position on Equity and Anti-Racism

Nutrition Link Services Society values diversity, inclusion, equity and social justice.

We recognize that food insecurity is rooted in historic and systemic barriers, beliefs and unconscious bias impacting the ability of individuals and families to thrive in their communities.

We support the principles of equality, dignity and fairness rooted in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations and the BC Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act Action Plan. The NLS commits to aim that our programs is administered in a way that reflects these ideals.
